Exod.3.2 - And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. We all have our different versions of the same story! An account that defines an encounter that the father brings and we hardly know. When the fire burns in the bush but the bush was not consumed. How long is the arm of our God. To bring us to depths which none of us would ever desire or wanted just to show us what means so important to our life and living. Moses had known he is different from pharaoh descendants. He saw the call hovering over him. He sensed a Divine hand reaching to him. Yet, all he sees was a hand. He hadn't fully understood why his passion wasn't working out as he thought it should do. He was not appreciated by the people he risked his life to save. The Israelite uttered, "Who has made you our deliverer?" . Immediately he knew the old secret of avenging the Israelite by saving him from the Egyptian soldier. The death was not intended but it happened anyway. His ministry lacked right order, methods and wisdom. Moses was trying his sincere best, but it was done in a best way. His flesh was blurring his work, his fear was making flee, his ego was obstructing God's work.Moses ran to the nearby desert. Grace followed him. God guided him to his inlaws. He needed survival. The same many genuinely called ministered thought they needed. The very thing that made them bid their Divine assignment "bye". Some never returned, because what they thought would be direct, interesting and easy was actually cryptic, confusing and very challenging! Ministry is a slow because a lot is involved. This continued until he saw a sight.Fire burning in a bush but the bush was not burnt! God is the fire that purges and purifies us but never consumes us. He brings us to fire. My wife and I entered ministry in 2005, just 3 months after our wedding.. Our place of mission is Abeokuta. We thought the whole story will change instantly be ause we obeyed the call. We had to initially live in Ayetoro because we could not afford basic things at abeokuta. We were at Ayetoro for a year. Immediately a year elapsed there, the lord mandated us to returned to Abeokuta. Things went from bad to work. Could get job to sustain in ministry. I started document making business which later folded up. We started our church in a small room we could afford . Without chair and 1 bed and one trouser and 2 shirt. Thought things will change because we felt we must have impressed God by staying put still. Yet things started declining. We went from fire to more fire. In the depth of darkness, there exists loneliness. I could have returned to Ibadan and quit ministry, some did this Andi can follow suit. After all I can do ministry ministry,(as some think!). My wife Andi declined opportunities to make us turn back. In the course a minister said I should come over to Lagos to pastor his church for him. The salary then would be in hundred of thousands. A car will be given me and my wife would not have to work. My wife and I declined. I appealed to him that I couldn't. I explained to him that God told me to stay in abeokuta, not Lagos. The pastor felt embarrassed and he asked me to return immediately. I took started taxi business. Back then I would ply osiele to panseke. This didn't make things better. We went from fire to fire. Ministry was not growing as we thought. No one even looked at our side and also we are not too good manipulating people for money. The story goes far more than this until little sparks of light started. And the whole is history. The most important part of all these is that, we are not burned! Are you in fire? Or moving from fire to fire, remember we serve a God who measures what we can bear. If we couldn't bear it, He wouldn't have permitted them .The fire makes us better than how it met us. Apostle Peter wrote, "1Pet.1.6 - Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: Your temptation is makes you see what He is diverting your attention at. Your manifold trials are not to discredit you or create a feeling that God has rejected you. Rather, to make you stand and see Him. He is willing to get your attention and the pain part you go through, costs Him more. Only ask Him to show you what He is been trying to say to you today and all will be well.
